J.U.M.P., Inc.
JUST UNDERSTAND MY POTENTIAL, INC., a nonprofit educational organization, has been conducting Outdoor Leadership Training programs for youth since 2005. J.U.M.P. is in the process of submitting a preliminary application for accreditation by the Association for Experiential Education (AEE), the nation's first recognized accreditation process focusing on adventure based experiential education programming.
As a nonprofit educational organization, JUST UNDERSTAND MY POTENTIAL, INC. is exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As a charitable organization, contributions to J.U.M.P. are tax deductible.
Executive Director, Bill Spacciapoli
J.U.M.P.'s founder and Executive Director, Bill Spacciapoli, graduated from WPI with Distinction, earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. After a year in the industry, Mr. Spacciapoli attended Virginia Tech where he earned a Master's Degree in Engineering. He has spent the past 25 years building and leading project teams.
Mr. Spacciapoli was elected to the Harvard Board of Health, serving for 5 years (2 of those years as Chairman). During that time, he worked to address a variety of health and safety issues that came before the Board. He is a member of the Ayer Rotary Club where he chairs the Rotary Youth Leadership and Scholarship Committees, and is a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar sponsor.
Mr. Spacciapoli has completed the Outdoor Leadership Training Backpacking and Advanced Backpacking programs with the Appalachian Mountain Club Youth Opportunities Program (AMC/YOP), and qualifies for year-round borrowing privileges of AMC camping, backpacking, cross country ski and snow shoeing equipment. He has received training in Leave-No-Trace Backpacking principles, and is a member of the New Hampshire 4,000 Footer Club, having climbed all 48 of New Hampshire's 4,000+ foot peaks.
Bill is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He also holds a Healthcare Provider certification in CPR & AED from the American Heart Association, and is certified in Advanced Wilderness First Aid and Anaphylaxis by SOLO Wilderness Emergency Medicine, Conway, NH.
Medical Consultant, Fernando Catalina, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Catalina received his M.D., Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas in May of 1997 and is currently working as a pediatrician with Medical Associates - Pediatrics, P.C. in Leominster, MA.
In addition to serving as JUMP’s Medical Consultant, Fernando chairs both the Perinatal and Credentials Committees at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital. He also chairs the Membership Committee of the Central Mass. Association of Physicians and serves on the Board of Trustees of Health Alliance Hospital. He is also on the Board of Directors of the North Central Mass Boys and Girls Club.
