Our mission is to teach leadership and teamwork to young people through outdoor experience. Participants learn technical outdoor skills, leadership skills and team-building skills, all within the context of respect for the environment and each other.

Boys and girls, ages 11 and up, take part in overnight trips and stay in Appalachian Mountain Club lodges or huts. Hiking and backpacking are used as tools to teach and apply leadership and teamwork skills.

J.U.M.P. instructors will model, teach and inspire participants to be goal-directed, embrace commitment, be empathetic and demonstrate integrity.

The programs are open to all youth, regardless of athletic ability or outdoor experience. At J.U.M.P., your son or daughter will be included for what they can do, not excluded for what they can't!
