Winter Program
General Information
For youth entering grades 9 and up that have completed the Outdoor Leadership Training program. This program consists of three days of snow shoeing and cross country skiing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Training Topics
Entry-level instruction in snow shoeing and cross country skiing will be provided. Participants will also gain experience in thermal management. Conditions permitting, show shoeing up Mt. Tom, one of New Hampshire's 4,000 footers, is the highlight of this trip!
Meals
Hot meals will be provided at the AMC's Highland Center.
Lodging
Participants will stay at one of several Appalachian Mountain Club lodges in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Lodges are heated and have bathroom and shower facilities. Participants sleep in individual beds in shared bunk rooms.
Cost
$249 per participant. Includes transportation, food, lodging, use of clothing and equipment, pictures from the trip and a certificate of completion.
